Wing and a Toe

July 18, 2008

First the wing (before it is blocked).

Yes this means I finished Swan Lake aka Mystery Stole 3… well except for the blocking.

I hope to get it that done this weekend.

Now for the toe.

Yes its rather small right now, but it will grow.  I love using the 4 in. DPN’s for starting the toes.

Shhh… I know I have other socks on needles but… but… these are so cute.  And I happened to have the yarn in my stash.

Kathy, the winner of the blogiversary contest received the prize… coincidentally on her birthday.
Happy Birthday Kathy!

Now I off to help pack for a camping trip (kids and husband).
Have a nice weekend!

Twins

July 14, 2008

Mum is ever vigilant and protective.

They are all legs.

After a short stay, they are off.

They liked my lilacs and for once they left my raspberry canes alone.
I took these pictures from my raised deck with the moose 10 to 20 ft away.  It would have been dangerous to get this close if I was down in the yard with them.

I just finished the 6th clue on Swan Lake, yeah… only one more to go.

And by the way, the volcano that erupted is at least 800 miles from here.

Contest Results and More Lace

Drum roll please.  And the winner is of my blogiversary contest is …

Kathy of KEFKnits
I hope you enjoy the prize I put together, I should get it in the mail on Monday.

About a year ago I started Mystery Stole 3 (Swan Lake) and put it aside.  At that time I thought I would knit the symmetrical version, I then discovered the Beading Banshee’s variation, so I decided to give it a try and knit the wing.  BB’s variation extends the side border along the side where the wing attached and I think makes for a nicer transition.

Now I’m off to a soccer game, have a nice weekend!
