Again

Today, most of my family would be running (in shorts) in the annual Heart Run…

But noooo, it had to go and snow another 2 feet.  The event got postponed, I think for the first time ever.

Poor Crackers…

We are going to have to shovel her stairs off.

Well the happy, happy, happy spring dance was short lived, but I know spring will eventually come… and stay.

The next yarn for the Basic Sock (see previous post) I had chosen didn’t grow on me with this pattern, so I went back into the sock stash and came up with Marks and Kattens’ Clown  Colour No.1724. 

This yarn is also a wool/cotton/nylon blend.  The yellow stripe works for me a lot better in the Clown yarn than in the Sockotta.

So into my travel knitting bag it goes.

It’s Melting

Today will be the third day in a row that the temperature was above 50° F.

Happy, happy, happy! 

Since this is what it looked like a couple weeks ago.

I finished the “Basic Sock”, by Cat Bordhi

I never did find that blasted yarn label.

The “Basic Sock” is my travel knitting, so I always have it “on needles”.  The next pair is going to be knitted with  Sockotta, 45% Cotton, 40% Superwash Wool and 15%  Nylon.  Colour is No. 617.

The jury is still out whether these colours will work for me, but I do know someone who will like them.

Now off to get my hair done.

Though this doesn’t have anything to do with knitting or spinning, I couldn’t resist sharing the following with you.

The only info I have is that this took place at Shishmaref, in western Alaska, on the Bering Sea.

From all reports the guy made it into the truck safely.
